Healthy Biblical Transitions

Creating A Culture of Young and Seasoned Leaders Partnering Together

Site Leadership Transitions (Fall 2021)

When churches follow the example of Jesus, or the early church example of the Apostle Paul, new leaders are constantly being trained and raised up. Grace Gathering has a long history of leadership multiplication.

Over the last two years, two couples have been trained to step into new roles of leadership. Brian and Shandi Menzie will become the lead couple of our North Site as Scott and Stacy Jester hand this role to them. Levy and Allison Francois will become the lead couple of our East Site as Chris and Kathy hand this role to them. Chris will continue in his role of Team Leader over all of Grace Gathering, and Scott will step more fully into the role of overseeing the local and missional engagement of Grace overall.

Watch this video explaining the transition:

Here are some common questions and answers regarding the transitions:

1. When will these transitions officially take place?

On Sept. 26, 2021 Levy Francois will become the site leader of East, and on Oct. 3, 2021 Brian Menzie will become the site leader of North. Steve Terry will remain as site leader of Central.

2. What are the primary responsibilities of a site leader?

A site leader is the primary leader and pastor of that respective site or congregation. This includes the following:

  • Preaching 50% of the time
  • Leading the ministry directors of that site (children, youth, connections, groups, etc.)
  • Shepherding and pastoring that congregation along with a team of others
  • Discipling and raising up new leaders within that congregation

3. Will Levy and Brian be part or full-time?

Both Brian and Levy are and will remain full-time at 40 hours/week. Brian will continue to spend a portion of his time helping oversee communications at Grace Gathering overall but will spend the majority of his time leading North. Due to the size of East, Levy will remain full-time and focused exclusively on that congregation.

4. What are the primary responsibilities of Chris as Team Leader over all of Grace?

Chris will remain at the 35 hours/week he is currently with the following responsibilities:

  • Casting vision to Grace overall in connection with the elders
  • Discipling and investing in the site leaders and key church-wide leaders
  • Preaching rotation at all the sites
  • Expanding church-wide training environments (e.g. theological, communicator, etc.)
  • Expanding Grace’s investment in a city vision and investing in local pastors

5. What are the primary responsibilities of Scott as Director of Missional Engagement?

Scott will remain at the current 12-14 hours/week he is currently with the following responsibilities:

  • Help sites, groups, and communities with resources to be engaged with local mission
  • Give direction and investment into Grace’s future church plant in Haiti starting in 2022
  • Expand Grace’s international investment into missions

6. What does spouse partnership look like?

Because the church is a spiritual family, it is healthier when spiritual dads and moms partner together. Stephanie, Allison, and Shandi are godly women and their leadership roles will make a meaningful impact in our sites and overall in our church family.
